Yes Folks… its true… an trewely international n rare flavour.. with trewely honey-like singin voices, n great tewens, includin’ their speshel takes on songs ewe already know. A mouth watering double – bill for lovers of fine folk and cheeky country music. Lizottes hosts two bands, renowned for their amazing acoustic covers and entertaining original tunes; The Pigs from Sydney and The Beez from Berlin. Both bands mash up musical styles with joyous abandon and both have appeared at Woodford, Port Fairy and Tamworth Festivals as well as on ABC TV’s Spicks and Specks. The Pigs’ well known to many Novacastrians, popping up regularly on ABC 1233. The family of musicians (last name, ‘Pig’) take a hit song, turn it upside down, shake the change out of its pockets and set it down in its proper form…foot stomping bluegrass. Attacking anything, from Rage Against The Machine to Daft Punk, the band is most famous for their banjo driven version of Beyonce’s Single Ladies. The Pig’s cracking original tunes include the bitter break-up tune, Hey Christina and Macho Moisturiser, a song about a crocodile wrestler with “skin like the softest part of a duck.” The Beez create a fast and furious melange of musical styles from Balkan to Burlesque, from Punk to Polka. Accordion chanteuse and native West Berliner, Deta, co-­founded the legendary Berliner cabaret venue, ‘Chameleon’, shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Velvet ­voiced East Berliner Julischka, singer and bass player, joined Deta for an historic east/west accord,to form The Beez. Deta drafted Sydney boy Rob Rayner, singer and guitarist and finger picking San Franciscan Peter D’Elia on banjo and dobro. They have toured Europe, North America and Australia extensively with eccentric cover versions of pop and rock hits, “the originals of which can only be considered second best” (Berliner Morgenpost). Now The Beez are ‘covering’ their own songs to wide acclaim. A night with The Beez and The Pigs at Lizottes promises to be as sweet as..well..honey ­baked ham.

Also with us will be our fantastic Tasmanian Banjo Player Cousin Montz!! It’s very rare to have’im with us in Sidney.. so we’re mighty excited.
